We’re a month away. You better get ready to suffer! We may have a few tricks up our sleeve to make the suffering last a little longer than normal on that dreaded first lap. You’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, we’ve got something in store for those of you who suffer long enough to find your way into fourth place. That’s right, fourth place! The B24 welocmes The Sufferfset to our list of sponsors for 2011. They’ll present each fourth place finisher with one free video download to keep you, uh, entertained while you’re suffering on your trainer. If you’re not familiar with them, click on over to Bikerumor.com for a few video reviews. Their tagline says it all. “I will beat my ass today to kick yours tomorrow.”
Hey Ladies! The BMCC and the B24 want to see you on the trail. The women’s classes have suffered the last couple of years at the B24. We’ve set attendance records both of those years so there’s no excuse for you not to come race. After a brief hiatus, we’ve added the Women’s Duo category back to the fold. Currently, the solo female class is a no show but The Betty Project is back and so are the Dirt Divas to contest for the Women’s team podium. In efforts to entice you to to join the field, we’re going to reduce the registration fees for all lady’s categories. Enter coupon code BIKE SHOP GIRL to receive 20% off the current fees. After you register, check out bikeshopgirl.com for Motivational Mondays, product reviews, news, race recaps and all things relevant to women’s cycling.
The B24 inbox is getting full with people asking one question. When will registration be open? Ask no more. Click on over to Bikereg.com and sign up now. If you’re familiar with BMCC events, you know that we offer Super Saver registration at the 6 Hours of Warrior Creek. Since that race is sold out and lots people are left wanting in, we’re offering Super Saver rates normally reserved for 6WC participants through January 9. What a bargain! Spend that Christmas cash on the premeir endurance MTB race in the Southeast and plan on spending Memorial Day with us.
Mark your calendars for Memorial Day Weekend, 2011 for one of the longest running 24 hour endurance mountain bike races in the Southeast. That’s May 28 – 29, 2011. The timing team has been secured.
Them + you = a race!

Speaking of next year, we’re constantly working to improve the event. Leave a comment on this post with your thoughts on the race…what you liked, what we could do better or just general ruminations on 24 hour racing. We appreciate your feedback!

Storms wreak havoc on preparations for the B24. Tents were flying 30 feet through the air, slammed into cars and reduced to broken twigs of twisted metal. Fun times! The good news, weather looks more promising for Saturday and Sunday and the Ergon tent was not damaged in the storm! You’re welcome E.O.
