Record attendance for the 10th Annual BURN 24 Hour Challenge! Join us in the Moonshine Capital of the World for the best grassroots mountain bike racing in the Southeast.
We had one person whine until he got his own class, now we’ve had another. This time though, he’s bringing a sponsor with him. Thanks to our friends at Water-Keep, we are adding a Solo Male Masters 40+ class to the 10th edition of our fine race, and there’s cash up for grabs. Put the remote down and get out of your recliners old dudes. Come join the dash for the cash. We’ve got a handful of spots left so don’t be left sitting in that chair. Register today!
While we’re on pace to match record attendance at the B24, our entries by the ladies are, well, weak! So here’s the deal to encourage the ladies to come out and race: Registration fees at Bikereg.com have been rolled back to the previous registration period (3/16 to 4/15). This sweet deal is for the ladies only but to be fair to the guys, we’ll do something for you too. Enter promo code “Bikerumor.com” to save 10% on the current registration fees. These deals will expire with the close of online registration so there’s no excuse not to sign up now!
Bring some speed to the BURN 24 Hour Challenge and win one hundred dollars for the fastest lap time laid down during the daylight hours. Carolina West Wireless, the official wireless provider of the B24, is putting up the cash for the fastest male and female lap times turned between lap 2 and 7 pm on Saturday. Do you have what it takes or will you just phone it in!
Just after the race, Bikerumor.com will be pulling out its big box o’ schwag and throwing out lots of goodies for those hanging around until the final results are posted.
They’re working on a few other fun things to keep everyone entertained, so be sure to swing by their booth/pit area (they’re racing, too!) and say ‘hey’ to Tyler and the crew. Haven’t heard of Bikerumor.com? They’re serving up fresh cycling goodness every day, and their recent coverage of all the new bike parts unveiled at Sea Otter Classic is second to none!
You heard it right. Carey Lowery is returning to the site of her first 24 hour mountain bike race and she’s coming with a cause. Not only does she want to crush the women’s solo field, she wants to raise some cash for a worthy cause while doing it. After the cancellation of Big Bear, Carey set her sights on the BURN as a backdrop for her goal of raising $6,000 for City Park School and Ingleside Elementary in her hometown. Instead of telling her story for her, you can read it here in her own words. The BURN 24 Hour Challenge is pledging to help. You should too!

Granny Gear cancelled the 24 Hour National Championships in Big Bear, WV, this Summer…so what are you gonna do?
Race with us instead! Put your refunded entry fee to use at the BURN 24 and have some coin to spare…our entry fees are way lower, and you’ll be getting one of the best 24 hour race experiences in the U.S. You’ll also be supporting continued trail development at W Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir, home to nearly 30 miles of sweet single track that’s open year ’round!
The 10th Annual BURN 24 Hour Challenge presented by Bikerumor.com is just around the corner. Early bird registration ends on 3/15. If you’re wondering what to do with that tax refund, spend it now on your entry to this fine event.
If you’re racing in the SOLD OUT 6 Hours of Warrior Creek, we’ll have on site registration for the B24 at the Super Saver rate. This will be the only time this rate is offered. Bring your Visa, MasterCard, cash or check and we’ll get you set up at an unbelievable deal.
Hello, Racers!
We’re back on Memorial Day Weekend 2010 to celebrate our 10th Anniversary as the Southeast’s biggest, baddest and longest-running 24 hour mountain bike race!
How are we celebrating? For starters, we’ve got this nifty new website…looks similar to last year, but behind the scenes its completely revamped to make it easier for us to keep you updated via this cool thing called ‘blogging.’ We hear it’s become pretty popular, so now we’re ready to post fresh news about the event as it happens.
We’ve also started Tweeting, so if you’re a Twitter addict, follow us @burn24hour for updates and quick bits of news. While you’re there, why not follow @bikerumor too? They’re our presenting sponsor and the ones that helped us build this website and get things ready for the race!
